Ascend Is...

A Nonprofit, peer-run organization serving Stark County, Ohio, offering free Peer Run Crisis Respite Services and evidence-based, peer-led classes. Governed by a Board of Directors that is at least 60% consumer-operated, ASCEND is uniquely positioned to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Our team of trained staff with lived experience delivers trauma-informed care that fosters recovery, reduces stigma, and builds self-sufficiency. Your support helps us expand access to critical mental health services and sustainable peer employment.

All Services Offered...

Are completely free of charge and designed with both physical and emotional safety in mind. Our peer supporters—individuals with lived experience—are trained through the Ohio Peer Supporter Integrated Training Model, equipping them to educate, empower, and motivate members of the Stark County community on their path to recovery.

Key advocacy efforts are fighting stigmas, pushing for adequate funding for mental health services, and empowering consumers to advocate for their own needs.
