ASCEND is a non-profit Peer run organization that offers free respite services and classes to individuals in Stark County, Ohio. As a consumer-operated service, it is operated by a 60% consumer-operated Board of Directors. ASCEND is operated by individuals with lived experience in either mental health or substance use disorders.

All the services offered at ASCEND are free of charge, and the structure is planned with physical and emotional safety in mind.

ASCEND educates, empowers, and motivates the Stark County Community with a staff of peer supporters that have been trained in the Ohio Peer Supporter Integrated Training Model.

We are mainly funded by Stark MHAR (Mental Health & Addiction Recovery), who believe in the value of our organization and mission to help those attain a level and type of recovery that the peer chooses.
